Outlook 2016 + 2019 : Fix Meetings are created as Teams Online Meetings by default
Hi folks.
Some of you may encounter the problem that older Outlook versions create new meetings by default as Online-Meetings when Microsoft Teams is installed and the corresponding plugin is active. Older Outlook versions in contrast to newer ones like Outlook 365 do not show an option in the Outlook settings under "Calendar", so this fix is for you if you don't have the option in the settings dialog and keep the Teams-Plugin active.
To fix the problem, use the following registry snippet for the current user
Hope this fix rescues some of you.

The error is now fixed in Teams-Plugin Version 1.0.23199.2 for Outlook. Just update your teams app.

we use office 2016 and ms teams.
We had the problem that every new meeting was created with a ms teams link
Now we updated our MS Teams to version 1.6.00.20074 and the outlook addin is version 1.0.23199.2.#
On my client i can create now new meetings without ms teams links (with the old addin version i had the problem that all meetings are ms teams meetings) but on other clients there is still the ms teams link insert in a new meeting.
That is really strange because all users are using the same office 2016 version.
Is there any other option to handle this because i thought that the new addin version will fix this problem.
Does anybody has the same problem with the new addin version?

We have the same problem. There is a silly workaround. During your Outlook session, create one meeting using the "New Meeting" icon in the top left corner. You can immediately close this meeting without saving.
As long as you don't close the Outlook client, it doesn't matter how you create meetings, Outlook will not create the MS Teams meeting. So anyone who uses the New Meeting icon, never has the issue, even with the new version. I hope MS fixes it.
